Last Fall Break!

 Last Fall Break!

This past weekend was fall break, Hallelujah! I had been looking forward to it for weeks and it was so needed. I got to catch up on sleep, deep cleaned my apartment, worked ahead on some school work and hung out with some family. I also got a bonus day of break since my professor had to cancel class today. I think going to a full day of classes tomorrow is going to be a little adjustment. Thank goodness for coffee!

My mini me !
Saturday was a packed, but fun day! I did have to wake up early (we’re talking 6 am) to get my run in, but it was worth it. Since it was still dark out, I got to see the stars on my run and it was pretty peaceful. After breakfast and cleaning up from my run, Trent and I hit the road. We drove down to Wilmington College to see my cousin run her last meet of the season! Since she is in 7th grade, this was the first year she could run. It was so fun being able to run around the course cheering her on. Although, I don’t think Trent enjoyed the running as much as I did.

After we left Autumn’s race, we drove to Trent’s sister’s house to spend the day with his family and help prep the nursery for Kort’s baby boy. This Christmas, Trent and I are getting the best gift. We get to be a first-time aunt and uncle! While it’s Trent’s sister who is having the baby, I am just as thrilled! Baby boy Wilson is due on December 14, so just a short two months away. Kort, Trent’s mom and I spent some time at Kohl’s and TJ Max looking at baby clothes and nursery decor. It was a very fun day for me.

On our way back to her house, we picked up Roosters for dinner, which is a staple in the Mayne household for Ohio State game day. We spent the rest of the evening watching the game and leaving her house slightly disappointed in the Ohio State loss, but it was a close game.

The Maynes watching the game!

Saturday was my busiest day this weekend and the rest of the week was pretty chill. Sunday, I caught up on laundry and “Grey’s Anatomy”. I made a delicious crock pot meal and went to bed early. On Monday, I spent some of the day with my coach helping with a recruit tour. After the tour, my friend Katie and I got our run in. I spent the evening working on some homework, but again, didn’t do much else. On Tuesday, we had an official practice and a nice workout. To say I was whipped after those 1ks is no exaggeration. It was also pretty chilly, making me wear a long sleeve and pants for the first time to practice this season! It was nice though to see all of my teammates after the long weekend and to study with my friends again. Now it’s time to dial back in for school and running! I have some important deadlines coming up for projects and our conference meet is about two and a half weeks away! Wild. This week, I have a long weekend of traveling with us going to New York to race, so I’ll soak up my last moments of a day off.

That’s all for now,

Abby

  1. I'm happy you had such a good break! It's really great when you get to share a sport with a family member and it's great you were able to make it to her meet.
