Travel Trip to NY!
In case it’s not obvious, running takes up a lot of my life. It feels like whatever time isn’t spent on school is spent on running. This weekend was no exception. I have spent 20 or more hours on the road since Friday so I am ready to sleep for two days straight. My cross-country team had our annual New York trip to Geneseo. It was fun but exhausting. We left campus at 9 am on Friday and arrived at the course around 5:30 pm. We got there the day before due to the length of the drive and so we could run the course before the meet on Saturday. The Mike Woods Invitational is hosted by SUNY Geneseo at the National Warplane Museum. So, not only do we get a fun trip, but a fun course too! There are old planes around the field we run in as well as planes that fly around nearby.

It’s an interesting and fun experience. Plus, the course is flat and fast, making the travel worth it! We went back to our hotel after we toured the course for a delicious pasta dinner and to rest up before the big race. Saturday morning came quickly and we went to the meet ready to race. The weather was perfect; sunny and 65 degrees. However, even with the perfect conditions, my race could’ve gone better. I’m just glad that some of my teammates still had solid days! Even with a bad race, I still learned a lot and feel more prepared going into our conference championship in two weeks.
Following the race, we stopped at Letchworth State Park. It was beautiful. The trees and waterfall were breathtaking. It was a good pick-me-up. Following this stop, we hit the road to go back to Ada. Once back, I showered and went straight to bed. Sunday morning, I had a two-hour drive after my long run to my mom’s house. Here, I grabbed some things I needed and helped my brother get ready to move into his apartment. I was still super tired from my travel trip so I went to bed early that night. Then, I woke up and came back to Ada!

This by no means was a chill weekend, and I don’t think I will have one for a minute. Considering what’s keeping me busy, I won’t complain too much. I have some fun stuff going on. So, all exciting events! In between all of that, I hope I can find some time to either nap or watch “Grey’s Anatomy” because I think I’ll need some downtime.
That’s all for now,
Abby
Abby, I know that the race didn't go the way you wanted but I'm so happy you pushed through! You are so strong! Good luck at OAC's!
